BRIDE GUIDE: BEST BRIDE TO-BE GIFTS!!!

I’M GETTING MARRIED!!! *can you hear the excitement in that text scream?!* As you know, Joe and I got engaged in December and we’re getting married next summer ahhh! And man has this summer has been THE summer of engagements!

All of my best girl friends are getting engaged and it’s been the happiest, most beautifully emotional past couple of months for all of us! So after the initial screeching and screaming, and jumping up and down, I immediately go on the prowl for the perfect gift for my friend during her most special time!

So I wanted to share with you what I’ve found to be the best bride to be gifts and my go-to places for special items! Ahem not only are these my favorite gifts for ‘her’, but they’ve also been gifted to me and I speak from experience when I say IN LOVE!

Kate Spade ‘Mrs’ necklace – a gorgeous, feminine, and dainty piece that will make her feel like the most special bride to be … a MRS!

Kendra Scott’s pendant necklace – these pieces come in necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. You can customize each piece and they’re stunningly sparkly! The chain is delicate and drops just in line with the collar bone. Our group of girlfriends traditionally get one of these beauties each time someone gets engaged and our girl Bailey just joined the ‘I do’ club <333

For all things hand-made and personal I turn to Etsy! You can create one of a kind pieces, put together gifts that are timeless and meaningful in a different way. I love finding that ‘something blue’ item to gift and this bracelet is stunning! If you follow me on Instagram (and pictured above) than you’ve seen the Etsy necklace that has Joe, Corrine, and my signatures all carved out of rose gold! Talk about special and unique! You can’t go wrong with any gift you give someone you care about and these are just some of my most coveted online destinations.

GIFT GUIDE: FATHER’S DAY GIFT IDEAS!

I want to wish all the dad’s out there a very HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! For us, today we get to celebrate how incredible Joe is and what an amazing man and influence he is in Corrine’s life and in mine. Today we’re making him breakfast in bed and spending some quality time as a family and I can’t wait to share with you what we did today!

I hope you’re able to celebrate that special man in your life today and if you’re scrambling for some last minute gift ideas, here are my favorites!
1. Camping gear– if he’s an outdoors kind of man, he will love anything you gift him to use on his next camping adventure! There is always a need for more stuff whether it be a bigger tent, a portable kitchen, or hiking gear! Top it off with a note saying where you’re taking him on his next camping trip!

2. Fishing kit– when I was little my dad’s favorite thing to do was to go fishing! I think something you can get dad this holiday is some new fishing equipment and a mini kit for the kiddos so they can enjoy his favorite sport with him! My favorite thing was putting the bait on the hook for my dad, sounds gross but I felt like a warrior doing it lol

3. Grooming kit– whether he’s a burly man or enjoys a close shave, one of my go to’s is an all in one grooming kit. Dad will appreciate the upgraded razors, the nice smelling after shave, and even if he doesn’t admit it- he also likes the nifty bag that it all comes in!

4. Gin kit– wine, beer, spirits, whatever his choice of liquor is, dad will really appreciate his next sip of his favorite drink thanks to this home brewing kit! Home brewing kits are quickly becoming the next ‘it’ gift because they come in so many forms and flavors. Dad’s a hands on, mr fix it, guys’ guy and he can totally get down with brewing his own beverage!

5. IOU- you can’t go wrong with a special iou! Whether you write it out or get a fun coupon book that you and the kiddos fill out for him, giving him free passes to 1) not do the dishes tonight 2) a man cave time out or 3) a ‘family washes the car’ day, you’re sure to put a smile on his face when he reads all of the special things you and your family want to do for him to show your love and appreciation for the father that he is.

Father’s Day is a day to show dad how much you love him and how special he is to you and your family, and that doesn’t always necessarily have to be in gift form. Gifts are wonderful, but acts of love like family time, him time, and breakfast in bed, all make one of a kind gifts.

This bonsai tree will be like your love fern; if he can keep it alive then he’ll be great with the future babies you have together right? Right! Make him fall in love with you all over again with this ultra cool drink koozie! Love says, “I’ll bring you a beer AND make sure it’s nice and chill, like me, because I’m a COOL girlfriend”. Pun intended. Also, his sock game can be on POINT now, just slip these into his stocking. The other socks he owns are probably holey or missing its pair anyway!

We love the many options because lets face it- we change our makeup look like we change our outfits … ok maybe wrong analogy. If she loves to write, doodle, or sketch out her first name paired with your last name … she’ll love this sophisticated and sleek stationary set! Do it!!!

GIFTS FOR HIM UNDER $50

The fastest way to a man’s heart … is through his belly! Not a beer belly per say, BUT this makes a wonderful gift set! It’ll make him kiss you faster than he can make the beer! If he’s all about that Axe body spray life (ahem Joe!) and you want to ease him into a sexy man scent, try gifting him with a cologne that you LOVE! He’ll love it too and he’ll appreciate the extra sniffs and nuzzles from you! Flannels are just as sexy as they are fashionable in my opinion, and nothing screams, “I’m a sexy AND strong lumberjack”, quite like a flannel does!  Or a man bun. And a burly beard.

Team building skills are best created through adventures and activities! Make some memories and find some incredible things for the two of you to do on sites like Living Social and Groupon! Double that with a polaroid camera to capture all the moments because you KNOW how much she likes taking photos of YOUR food! Besides, nothing makes a better Instagram photo than a collage of polaroids! Speaking of collages, you can one-up that gift by creating beautiful frames and art work with those photos by using services like Shutterfly and other photo making programs! Look at you, you’re a gifting PRO! PS she totally needs this getaway bag to go with, because truth!

GIFTS FOR HIM UNDER $100Men love taking selfies with us and FOR us, just about as much as they like talking about how AWESOME our love fern/bonsai gift was! Why not at least let him capture the moments HE loves, in style! Gift him with a rad camera … and be the 1st photo he takes with it! See, win win! Accessories really polish a man’s look off with just the right amount of taste and class. I think he’ll absolutely LOVE this watch with its man band and all! Last but not least, for the gamer inside of every man, be the coolest girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/ husband ever by surprising him with a new game or accessory! It shows that you semi-approve of all the time he spends gaming, AND that you’re actually listening to him talk about the game through all of those eye rolls of yours!
