This chunky lil snuggle muffin of mine... I missed #nationaldaughtersday but every day is a day to reminisce on those chubby cheeks, those wrist and knee rolls (iykyk) bc HOW ever do our babies make it out of this stage of that baby head smell without us eating them

Let's not pay attention to the 90's weird fugly couch, my letter J chola belt, and my boob pads. Those uncomfortable, oblong things were everywhere and never worked. Pay attention to how the days may feel long but the years move fast. Let the house be a mess, let 'em eat crap for dinner (bc hey, they're eating), and have that meltdown mama. Breathing helps, screen time helps (let's be honest), vino in the bathtub helps... take care of yourself too bc a happy mama is everything. You're everything

Everything I’ve done in my life has been for this girl right here… except the over-plucked brows and chola lipliner…it was the 90’s. My carbon copy who grew up with me and never let go of my hand even when I had no idea where I was leading us to or what the hell I was doing

They don’t tell you how to raise a baby they just make sure the car seat is properly installed before you leave the hospital, and you question everything you do and how it’s going to affect them, and you fight for the light every day and you do things you didn’t think you were strong enough to do, and then there you are. Exactly where you’re supposed to be

And here we are baby girl, 23 years later and you’re still my biggest motivation and supporter. I learned so much being your mama… like your brows will grow back and that swear words stick when you say them around your 3 year old

I leave for London next week and I hope I make you as proud as you make me ❤️

When Corrine was little I’d hide in my closet to eat my ice cream ALONE… or enjoy my Snickers or glass of wine without her asking for a bite, something just for me. Even though the mom guilt would some how settle in

and even though those little hands would make their way beneath the door to pry and ask what I was doing in there and when I’d let her in! No regrets, that ice cream was damn delicious 🙈

Those baby Corriney hands and that leetle face of hers makes my heart explode. @joenation_ met her when she was 12 and I’m so grateful that she still has him to be there for her and they have the bond they do and that we have the friendship that we do

Being friends with an ex is possible and can be healthy and wonderful if there’s mutual respect there. And if you’re co-parenting, I know that’s not always easy but how incredible for the littles and the not so littles. You go you❤️
