Taking The Fuss Out Of Fashion!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Ben Bridge Jeweler. All opinions are 100% mine.

I’ll be the first to admit that casual and comfortable are my go-to when it comes to personal style. Who doesn’t live for versatility and practicality! Well I’m happy to report that I’ve met my match in the accessory world. Ben Bridge bridges the gap between informal and ceremonial, pun intended!

I took two of my favorite pieces from the Ben Bridge Jeweler collection and styled them with my favorite ensembles to approach every occasion you’ll ever encounter.

For that work flow business meeting, brunch with your babes, or a casual day at the beach, this Disc Choker Necklace is the perfect accessory! The streamlined and classic design make it a stand alone piece that will absolutely make it a staple in your jewelry box. For moments when you’re feeling spontaneous, you can stack it for a trendy look which is my personal favorite. I love pairing a dainty detail like this choker with other pieces that give it an especially feminine feel.  It’s a 14K yellow gold dangle disc and the slide closure allows for it to be worn as a choker like I wear it, or up to 16 inches long.

Here we are, my all time favorite earring . . . not gonna lie, I feel like a rock star with these cuffs! These are the Ben Bridge Black Diamond Ear Cuff, oh la la. They’ve got the perfect amount of attitude to take any outfit and spice it up! Whether you’re leaving school or work to run some errands, or you’re headed out to a summer festival, this cuff puts an edgy spin on the traditional stud. I paired mine with a brass pair that complimented the cuff and it’s black diamonds nicely. These earrings make for an eye catching conversation starter so be prepared to share where you got them. Pssst, they’re set in 14K white gold with a curved tear drop design and adjust to THREE different sizes, but you didn’t hear it from me!

Don’t take my word for it though, accessorize all the things, stack all the pieces, and fall in love with them yourself. These Ben Bridge designs provide versatility and practicality to your wardrobe when accessorizing can feel overwhelming. This coming from queen of casual. I mean, who doesn’t live for comfort and simplicity!

These pieces allow me to dress for the occasion but still feel confident that they meet my mood, and elevate it! They’re timeless, minimalistic, and classic . . . just like me! Badadum ching 😉

What’s the ONE accessory you can’t live without?

BEST MOM FRIENDLY BATHING SUITS

If I’m being honest, I really hate when things are referred to as being ‘mom friendly’, and I’m a mom! I don’t know if it’s me assuming the phrase denotes negativity or it’s just me being paranoid that I’m fully defined by my mom hat. Either way I really wanted to share my favorite ‘mom friendly’ bathing suits.

I say that with a smirk because here I am saying it’s crappy to say ‘mom bod’ or ‘dad bod’ like what the hell does that even mean? But in this case, this momma over here has some rips and tears in this fabric and there’s just some bathing suits I prefer to wear! But these styles still make me feel beautiful, sexy, and fierce, which is important to me because I love to feel feminine! Whether you’re trying to conceal your tummy area, hips, or booty and thighs, I’ve got ya covered, literally! Disclaimer: rock your damn body no matter your size or shape because we only get one body in this life, so we mine as well love the shit out of it! We’re perfect just the way we are. *I have to remind myself of this all the time* <333

THE HIGH-WAISTED BIKINI

I’m especially fond of this type of bikini even though you run the risk of looking like you’re in a diaper haha I’ll take my chances! This conceals whatever pooch it is that I think I have, I also got a few stretch marks from having my daughter so beyond wearing a one-piece, this is my favorite version of a bikini. Also this style has scrunched Brazilian cut bottoms so you’re booty looks hot hot hot!

THE CROCHET SEXY ONE PIECE

Honestly, this is probably my all time favorite go-to bathing suit. I even wear it under jeans as seen here, or with a summer skirt because I think it can double as a sexy top. Crochet one pieces come in so many different colors and styles and if you’re trying to conceal your tummy or your hips, and even if you’re busty, I think this style flatters everyone. I refer to this bathing suit as my ‘mommy cover-up’ but it’s actually the best version of a one-piece that I’ve ever put on. It’s sexy but not offensive. And even if it were, if people don’t like it, tell them to close their eyes.

THE SIDE-CUTOUT ONE PIECE / COVER UP

Processed with Snapseed.

I just purchased this suit for our trip to Azul Beach trip when we did our wedding site visit because I wanted as many options for the beach and pool that I could possibly pack! I fell in love with this style because it’s got an open back, a higher neckline, deep side cut outs, and it comes attached to it’s own mesh cover up. This felt stunning on, I felt sexy yet modest . . . though I did have to keep tugging at the sides as to not have a nip slip, but hey, all’s fair when you’re on vacation. This style is perfect for concealing just about anything, for us bustier ladies though, be cautious of your lady bits when you’re in the pool LOL

So these are my favorite styles for us ladies, whether you’re a momma like me or if you just want a little more coverage in some areas, I think these bathing suits will make you feel beautiful, sexy, and fierce!

Rock it baby!

Are there any particular styles that you like that weren’t featured in today’s article? Do you like a high-waisted bikini even if you aren’t trying to conceal anything? What’s your style?! Do tell!

TRAVEL GUIDE: PACK VERSATILITY INTO YOUR WARDROBE!

I recently shared some fun facts about me, so adding to that … unknown truth, I NEVER check a bag! Like ever. No matter if we’re going on a 3 day trip or a 3 week trip, it’s all carry on for me! Can we say control freak!? So when we went to Las Vegas this past weekend for our 6 year anniversary I packed some versatile outfits and I want to share with you some of my versatility ideas for your vacation wardrobe.

I really wanted to bring along some dresses and cover ups that would double as swim suit cover ups while I was at the pool, and that could then be styled as dinner/ going out ensembles for after the day’s events! These scream sultry, versatile, and vacation!

Nasty Gal black romper with a mustard bralette, LF black and white chevron romper, LF fringed blouse and high waisted shredded shorts, White crochet monokini with a LF black scalloped sheer cover upLF black lace skater dress, and this floor length floral wrap around gown.

Can you tell that I really own clothes in white and black? I’m drawn to them in everything! These outfits made me feel sexy and stylish! They were flowy, feminine, and perfect for that ‘pool to night out’ transition. Especially on vacation, you never know when you’re going to want to hop out of the pool and hit the town and these were my favorite choices! Next I’ll share with you how I packed 8 outfits, 3 bathing suits, 3 pairs of shoes, makeup and more all into ONE carry on luggage!

What is your go-to choice for packing some versatility into your wardrobe?

ACCESSORIZE WITH STYLE- THE BEAUTY CORNER WITH DW

Mother’s Day is this weekend and I thought what better time to empower all my fellow moms out there than now, I mean we create life … you’re goddess status! Every woman deserves to feel sexy and be told she’s a goddess. Today I’ll share with you the TOP 3 ways to accessorize your sexy self from the inside out!

#1 CONFIDENCE AND A SMILE!

Your number one accessory is your confidence! It’s something that CAN be seen and is your best invisible accessory because it’s something that comes from within. That may sound super cliche but it’s sincerely the best thing you can give yourself. It’s a genuine feeling that you can easily follow up with a HUGE ear to ear smile! Which by the way, is the most beautiful part of being a human … our ability to SMILE!

Confidence is something you can’t teach someone and if you’d told 14 year old me to build more confidence, I would have had no idea what you were talking about. You can feel good about the skin you’re in today … flaunt what your momma gave ya! *another reference to mom’s day*

#2 STYLES YOU FEEL SEXY IN

Sexiness is also something that’s hard to explain to people because so many people hear the word ‘sexy’ and associate it with something bad, but being sexy is empowering! You’ll find yourself feeling fierce and you’ll settle into that confident feeling … remember, you’re a force!

If you feel fierce in sweat pants and a tank, rock it! If you feel fierce in pencil skirts and pumps, rock it! I feel FIERCE in rompers and jumpsuits! Something about finally loving the skin I’m in and being able to show a little bit of it without being self conscious about my body, is so empowering. Confidence is also a timing thing. For me, the past couple of years I’ve really grown to love myself and love my body, and that’s complete growth from the person I was, even just 5 years ago.

#3 CHIC AND CLASSY OUTERWEAR- ACCESSORIZE WITH STYLE!

Any accessory that can make it on its own as a statement piece and not just an accessory item, is number one on my list. I chose to highlight and feature this Daniel Wellington Sheffield watch for a few reasons. One- it’s one of the most elegant and sophisticated accessory items I own; that elevates any look with its simplicity, and two- pardon the pun, it’s a timeless piece that pulls any ensemble together with ease. I paired it with my Gwyneth jumpsuit, some open toe heels, and I was ready for my Mother’s Day weekend!

This super classy Sheffield rose gold watch (I’m ruled by all things rose gold) is uber feminine, and minimalistic with its sleek, slender leather strap. The sexiness of this watch includes the Swarovski crystals that span the circumference of the face and the interchangeable straps!

Huge thank you to Daniel Wellington for sending over this must-have accessory that prompted this entire post about timing (pun intended), confidence, and empowerment. I love what their company stands for and if you wanna snag your own swag (that should be a hashtag), they were kind enough to also give my audience 15% off all their products. Just click HERE and enter in “JESSLIZAMA” for the discount. I do not make a percentage off of any of the sales, I truly just wanted to share this beauty with you all. I hope this inspires you to start feelin’ yourself!

Happy Mother’s Day to all you mommas and I hope you feel loved and appreciated this weekend <3

What are your special plans for this weekend and what is the number ONE accessory that makes you feel like a million bucks?!

3 EASY FIXES TO MOVE ON FROM THE ‘MOM’ LOOK

I’m a mom. I live for convenience and I’ll choose comfort over cute any day because, time saver. I love my yoga pants, I love my flip-flops, and I love big over sized sweaters that make me feel cozy. Corrine however will tell you that I’ve got to RETIRE the uggs and step away from the flip-flops!

So today I’m sharing with you Corrine’s top 3 easy fixes to move on from the ‘mom’ look … and move into sassy, trendy, and fashionable! When I say ‘mom look’, I’m referring to the ‘I ran out of the door fuss free I have errands to run and no time for vanity’ look. You know, the moments when you go to the gym (or dress like you’ll be going to the gym but never really actually make it there) in your athletic gear and tennis shoes and then you live the rest of your day in the same types of clothes. Comfort and convenience!

Well here are the simple, affordable, and practical ways in which you can elevate your look and still feel like you’re ready to walk the grocery aisle and not the runway aisle.

1. Accessorize- even the smallest addition to your outfit will dress up even the most casual of ensembles. Here I have this beautiful long necklace that my good friend Stephanie gave me for my birthday and the color is a beautifully muted light purple hue. Simple and elegant.

2. Swap your flip-flops for chic slip ons -this may seem like a no brainer but for the longest time I couldn’t let go of them! Wedges or slip ons are the perfect alternative!

3. Invest in outerwear- I’m the first person to grab an oversized faded sweater, holey or not, and make a dodge for the door. But if you top your outfit with a cute cardigan, pullover, button up, or jacket, you’ll look more put together and less like you just rolled out of bed. You can still enjoy those comfortable outfits, just take them to the next level!

Try implementing these easy changes into your every day casual wardrobe options and see if they don’t make you feel any better about your basics! I promise it will!

What’s the one staple item in your closet that you just refuse to abandon? I’ll raise my glass to yoga pants. I just can’t seem to get through a week without them!

BACK-TO-SCHOOL STYLE WITH CORRINE!

This post is promoted by Sears, and we’re happy to share Corrine’s back-to-school style for this year!

The new school year is almost here and whether your child is starting a new year at middle school, high school, or college, every parent knows that the most fun part about prepping for a new year …  is the shopping!

I remember when I was younger, my siblings and I would nag and beg our parents to take us school shopping because we just couldn’t wait to get new clothes, new shoes, and new supplies! It was the most exciting part about it all! We loved organizing our pencil cases and putting paper and folders into our new binders, and my sister and I especially loved picking out our outfits for the first day of school!

Corrine’s style is much different from mine at her age. I remember color coordinating purple and pink leg warmers to match my purple skirt and pink teeshirt! It was the style of the ’90s and I was all about that side pony tail … and in my defense, the side pony was the modern look of the times! Corrine is much more fashionable than I; she loves creating looks that fit her personality and that speak to the vintage side of her.

This year, her style was influenced by the ’70s and the ’70s modern revival that we’re seeing trend around, which inspired her to create this year’s theme. Since Sears is a great destination for sophisticated and stylish clothing, off we went!

This year’s theme is representative of Corrine’s love of vintage fashion, and she paired each look with some modern pieces to make them her own. We can thank Bongo Girls and Canyon River Blues for this look, featuring these high-waisted shorts, a simple tee, and this crochet fringe cardigan. She paired this ensemble with these black ankle booties and a bolo tie. (The booties are so versitile and you’ll see them again soon!)

The shorts in particular gave this outfit a ’70s revival feel; high waisted with a V-knotched zipper, Corrine loved how simple and classic this was. The “pardon moi” tee has short sleeves and keeps the aesthetic simple with its muted burgundy lettering. She reminded me that this cardigan is perfect for cold classroom temperatures, and that comfort is everything when choosing campus walking shoes.

Keeping with the ’70s theme for this second ensemble, Corrine paired these black Bongo Girls skinny jeans with this white, loose-fit peplum blouse. She brought back the black booties since they pair so easily with everything, and topped the look off with a very simple yet edgy choice for an accessory. She tied a black-and-white bandana around her neck instead of opting for a simple necklace, and added a few stacked rings to fit this relaxed theme.

Corrine jumped for joy over these pieces, and I jumped for joy since we paid under $100 for both of these outfits! What made me most happy was how excited she was to put these looks together! They represent her funky and relaxed personality, and she has a special way of adding her own personal edge to everything she wears. Proud mama over here!

Leave us a comment below telling us what your themed style for this school year will be, and check out how Sassy Dove styled her child’s outfit on her blog soon! All these mamas inspiring me to start styling more!

Thank you for checking in and we’ll see you later this week with our Summer Skin Care Favorites!
